Who doesn’t love apple pie? This easy-to-do fabulous recipe will get you started on creating your very own apple pie from scratch. Here in this recipe you will learn how to make the crust to even cutting the apples that will be placed in the pie. So what are you waiting for, lets get started cooking!

You Will Need The Following Ingredients:

For the crust:

* 2 cups of flour
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 3/4 of vegetable shortening
* 1/4 cup of cold water
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup Milk
* Pie pan

For the filling:

* 1/3 cup of white sugar
* 1/3 cup of brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
* 1/4 teaspoon of salt
* 3 tablespoons of flour
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
* 6-8 medium-sized apples (McIntosh or Granny Smith)
* 1/4 cup apple juice
* 1 tablespoons of vanilla extract

Pre-heat oven to 375ºF

Take the flour, salt, Crisco and place it into a large bowl.

Then slowly add the water.

Knead the mixed contents so that this will form into your dough.

Move your dough to the side, find a counter top to roll the dough. You will need to sprinkle flour across your counter top so the dough does not stick.

Place your dough on your flour counter top and begin flattening the dough with a rolling pin.

Use a spatula to lift the dough from your counter top.

Once this is done, gently place the dough in the pie pan.

Tear of the ends of the dough so that no dough is hanging off the pie pan.

Rinse your apples

Peel your apples

Cut your apples in bite size pieces and remove seeds.

Put the chopped up apples into a large bowl and mix with sugars "white and brown", salt, lemon juice, flour, apple juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon, then mix all the contents together.

Place your mixed apples into the refrigerator in the meantime.

Next you will need to take left over dough to make the 2 inch strips that will go on top of your apple pie. Sprinkle flour on your counter top if not done so, so that you can re-flatten your dough.

Re-flatten your dough again.

Cut 8 strips of dough 2 inches wide. These strips will go over your pie.

Pour in your apple contents into your pie pan

Place 4 of the strips of dough on the pie horizontally.

Mix the 1 egg with 1/4 cup of milk. Then use the mixed egg and milk and brush the edges of the pie shell using a pastry brush.

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top crust.

Bake at 375ºF for 50 minutes.

Once your apple has finished baking you will want to wait 1 hour for your pie to cool. Once it has cooled, you then can enjoy your apple pie.
