Apart from the tuition, college can be costly because of daily living expenses, school projects and many others. We are giving you tips to cope up with these expenses.
1
Walk. Lose the car. Gas alone can be too costly. Besides walking is a good exercise which will free you from health hazards and put you in good form all the time.
2
Live in the dormitory. Living in the dormitory is relatively cheaper than living in your own apartment. Living in a dormitory also gives you the privilege to meet more people who could give you physical assistance (yes, sometimes even financially) and emotional and mental support throughout your college life.
3
Get a part-time job. If you have enough free time, get a part time job. Extra income is sometimes necessary for unexpected expenses – like projects – college.
4
Join school organizations. College is not just about learning. More than what you learn inside the classroom, what you learn outside is just as important as well. Meet new friends and expand your network.
5
Keep an empty water bottle in your bag. If you walk most of the time, you get thirsty more often. Instead of buying soda or a can of water all the time, you may simply refill your drinking bottle from any drinking fountain. - That saves up a lot.
6
Design your own clothes. College is the perfect chance for you to show who you really are. Design your own clothes. Wearing your own designs also give you the chance to veer away from costly fad designs which change very often.
7
Get a bike. If you hate to walk, biking around is always a good alternative.
8
Trade books. Don’t buy books. Trade instead. Trading gives you a chance to meet more people. You may also opt for e-books instead of the conventional ones to cut on expenses.
9
Work during vacation. A lot of institutions offer student jobs during vacation. This is a brilliant way to save up.
10
Eat and live healthy. Always eat nutritious food. Maintain a balanced diet as often as you can. Veer away from alcohol and smoking.
