What, you thought we were done paying homage to one of the best filmmakers to ever touch celluloid? Nah, homie. We got nothing but love for John Hughes and all his contributions—especially all the awesome characters he created in his well-crafted teenage tales. Why were they so awesome? These coming-of-age stories of teenage angst are all filled with characters that are very relatable.

Two of our favorites are Molly Ringwald’s best (and strictly platonic) friend Duckie Dale from Sixteen Candles and John Bender, the rebel that just wanted to be loved from The Breakfast Club. They were both outsiders and both eccentric with the fashion: Duckie with his mad hatter steez and Bender with the hobo chic look. Surprisingly, their styles have aged well over the years. So much so that we wouldn’t be mad at someone recreating them. If you’re feeling ‘em as much as we are, read on below to learn how to get their looks.
