How to Dig for Sand Prawns

Use live sand prawns as bait for fishing - getting the prawns is half the fun of it. Learn how.

Look for small holes in shallow lagoon or river water.

Position your prawn pump over a hole or two.

Push the pump down into the sand.

At the same time as pushing the pump down, pull the handle up to suck sand into the pump.

Step onto dry land and push the handle down to expel the sand and hopefully find many prawns.

Have a small bucket containing water nearby to put your prawns in.
