Do you have psychic abilities? Here are the steps for a game, simply using paper clips, to help you find out!
1
Two players sit back to back on the floor, carpet, or grass.
2
They must make sure their backs are touching at least a little.
3
In front of them they must each have a pile of colored paper clips.
4
Whoever goes first must select 1 to 5 paper clips from the pile in front of them, making sure their opponent does not see which they choose. To try and trick their opponent they may sometimes select no paper clips.
5
They then say “go” and while they concentrate on the contents enclosed in their hand, their opponent must also concentrate on what’s inside that hand, and on the mind of the one holding the paper clips.
6
After about a minute of serious concentration the opponent must guess how many are in the hand, and what colors they are.
7
It is important that both close their eyes and concentrate their minds on the paper clips in the hand.
8
They take turns, getting one point if correctly guessing how many paper clips there are, and two points if get the colors, and quantity of each color right.
9
If it seems a little difficult at first, start with just guessing how many in the hand, and then progressing from there to making the rule that only one color be in the hand at once, even if 5 are in the hand. Then move on to allowing different colors to be held in the hand too.
10
If too many correct “guesses” are being made, try increasing the difficulty by moving further apart from each other for the next round.
11
Do not be surprised if, after a while, your “guesses” are all correct – practicing this game is said to enhance natural psychic powers.
