At some stage or other, young cyclists want to do something exciting and challenging with their bicycle.Fun bicycle ramping you can do at home.
1
Find a plank. The planks builders use, about 2” thick and 12” wide is perfect. If it is 3 long paces long, it is very close to perfect.
2
Find bricks. You will need at least 4 to start off with.
3
Put a brick on the ground.
4
Put one end of the plank on top of the brick.
5
At the other end of the plank, pack some soil so that there is not a big bump when you get to the plank.
6
Get onto your bicycle.
7
Go off, about 20 yards.
8
Ride toward the plank, going as fast you can.
9
Make sure you do not approach the plank from the side; you must be headed straight for the end of the plank. When you hit the ramp, stand up on your pedals, and pull back on the handlebars.
10
When your front wheel leaves the end of the ramp you want to keep it in the air, so that you land on your back wheel.
11
Practice plenty, and add more bricks as you get better.
12
Check that the plank is still in its place every few jumps.
13
Invite your friends and have competitions to see who can ramp the furthest off the highest number of bricks.
