Although there are many online dress up games around, making paper clothes for your paper doll is still good old fashioned fun for children, and stimulates creativity, promotes good hand eye coordination, and hones fine motor skills.
1
Put your paper doll, made from cardboard, onto the paper you are going to use to make the paper clothes.
2
Draw a line slightly away from the body to create the outer lines of various items of clothing such as dresses, vests, long sleeved tops, jerseys, skirts, shorts and long pants.
3
For each item, remove the doll from the paper and fill in the missing lines to complete your item of clothing.
4
Add square or rectangular flaps to your clothing drawings at appropriate places meant for attaching the clothes to the doll.
5
Cut out the items, remembering to be careful not to cut off the flaps, but to cut around them.
6
Color in and decorate the clothing.
7
Have fun with your friends dressing your doll and designing different items of clothing.
