How to Find Really Old Barns

This is pretty much a child adventure, but many adults will also enjoy it. Kids, you need to arrange that Mom or Dad will be able to drive you around, without getting lost. Pack a picnic, and take your camera with.

Clues to old barns will not be found close to main roads, so, your driver will have to leave the main road, and travel along the smaller country roads.

Look out for area where there are thick hedges alongside the road, or neglected fences.

When you find this, slow down, and look for an entrance.

If the entrance or gate also looks scruffy, go in. You will need to look out very carefully, as very often old buildings blend into the surroundings.

When you find one, look out for a house close by, so that you can ask for permission to be on the property, and to take photographs.
