The woodwork on any home is susceptible to damage from any number of things. Rot or decay can result from the exposure of bare wood after paint chips and peels. Errant hammer blows or falling ladders can create severe dents and scratches in trim work. Knots in clapboards can become loose and fall out. Whatever the cause, damaged woodwork detracts from your home's beauty and can make the place look downright shabby. But, you can easily repair most blemishes with a little wood filler, some elbow grease and a dab or two of paint.
