Rabbits often get respiratory infections or colds. If properly treated they can recover. If your rabbit develops any nasal discharge (runny nose), sneezing, or coughing take immediate steps to help it get well.
1
Isolate the sick rabbit from other rabbits.
2
Keep the sick rabbit dry and out of drafts. Keep it warm, but not hot.
3
If the rabbit's symptoms persist or grow worse, consult your Veterinarian who may recommend some antibiotics.
4
Keep your rabbit's cage clean and don't further stress it by changing its diet, offering too many "green" or raw foods, or handling it more than usual.
5
Do not use cedar or other bedding with aromatic oils, as this may irritate the rabbit's respiratory system.
