How To Write A Sports Bio

Your sports bio is one of the best self-marketing tool for yourself. A sports bio is a well written biographical outline of your sports career that will help convince your potential. It also should outline your sports career stating your accomplishments, stats, and future goals.

When putting together a sports bio, you will first need to obtain the following information.

• 8/10 Headshot photo
• Career Stats

Once you have gathered everything stated in step 1, you can now starting writing up your bio. When writing your sports bio you should use a word processing software.

After you decided on what type of word processing software to use, you will want to type in the following line, “Personal Information.” Remember to use only a Times New Roman or Arial font. Make sure that you have also set “Personal Information” to bold and have the font set to a size 14.

Now that you have created your “Personal Information” header you will now have to add your personal information such as your name, address, birthday date, birth place, height, weight and education.

Next you will then enter a new header line as “Career.” Remember to use only a Times New Roman or Arial font. Make sure that you have also set “Career” to bold and have the font set to a size 14.

Under your “Career” heading you will want to add the following information, sports teams you have played with, position, and for how long.

Now that you have completed your “Career” section you can now start your “Life’s Work” section. You will want to type in the following line, “Life’s Work.” Remember to use only a Times New Roman or Arial font. Make sure that you have also set “Life’s Work” to bold and have the font set to a size 14.

Underneath your “Life’s Work” heading you will want to add a key selling point paragraph. For example if you are a football player you should type, “Known as one of the Tri-County League's top wide receivers, YOUR NAME has made his mark in football history in the Tri-County area, not just for his talent as a top wide receiver in Tomcat high.”

After you have completed your selling point paragraph, you will then want to start writing about your career in your sport. First start off with your first experience in your sport and build from there. Try not to be too much in depth with each team you may have played for, it is best to keep it to one paragraph.

Now that you have completed your “Life’s Work” you can now create new header line as “Awards.” Remember to use only a Times New Roman or Arial font. Make sure that you have also set “Awards” to bold and have the font set to a size 14.

In the “Awards” section you should enter in all the awards you have been given in your sports career. When writing your awards make sure type the year and name of the award given.

Last but not least you should accompany your sports bio with your sports stats of your most recent playing year.

You have now completed your sports bio.
